Mission Statement: The mission of the Shelter for Help in Emergency is to end domestic violence within our community. We provide temporary, emergency shelter to women and children who are victims of domestic abuse, we staff a 24-hour crisis hotline, and we provide counseling and support groups, court advocacy, and a children's program.

Volunteer Projects: We rely heavily on volunteer support for shelter coverage, staffing the hotline, court accompaniment, and other special projects. There is an extensive volunteer training three times a year to train volunteers to manage the shelter and provide services residents and hotline callers.
